Dr. Gulyayeva is board certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, fellowship trained in psycho-oncology, and holds advanced certification in psychodynamic psychotherapy. She has over three decades of expertise in medicine, including general psychiatry and psychiatry of the medically ill. As a psychosomatic medicine psychiatrist she focuses on psychological and psychiatric problems of patients with medical, neurological, surgical illness and cancer; and is able to treat a wide variety of psychiatric conditions and disorders. Her special interests include adjustment disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, delirium in critically ill patients, delirium tremens, depression, dysthymia, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, postpartum depression, somatization disorder and psychiatric aspects of cancer and other medical illnesses. Dr. Gulyayeva also has a special expertise in evaluation and treating psychiatric disorders in patients undergoing organ transplantation. She will work with her adult patients and their families to create individually tailored interventions and treatment plans, utilizing both medications and psychotherapies.
