Dr. Hartman is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, specializing in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, followed by medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In medical school, he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Criteria for membership includes professionalism, leadership, community service and scholastic achievement, referring to the qualities of an excellent doctor – trustworthiness, care of the patient, compassion, empathy, teamwork and a dedication to life-long learning.
Dr. Hartman completed his neurosurgery residency training at the University of Florida, followed by a fellowship in spinal neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
He specializes in treating complex spinal disorders with minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted surgery. In addition, he treats tumors of the brain and spine, scoliosis, degenerative spinal conditions, revision spine surgery, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
