Joseph Snavely, MD

Joseph E. Snavely, M.D. is a Central Florida native and received much of his training and education in the area. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida before obtaining his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed five years of orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Health including a year as Chief Resident. Dr. Snavely completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL where he received both orthopedic and neurosurgical spine training. Dr. Snavely is active in research and has authored peer-reviewed publications in well-respected spine surgery and orthopedic surgery journals. He has also presented his research at numerous scientific meetings at the international, national, and state levels receiving multiple awards for his work. Having trained extensively in all areas of spine surgery, Dr. Snavely has special interests in minimally invasive spine surgery and in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of degenerative spinal disorders and deformity. Dr. Snavely is excited to return home to the Central Florida area and provide top-level spine care treating each patient as if they were a member of his own family. His focus is to ensure that each patient is educated on their available treatment options and stays actively involved in the decision-making process.
